About the Job:

Signode Industrial Group has an opportunity for an experienced Electrician to join their maintenance team. The successful candidate must have a "safety-first" mindset, be a selfmotivated technical professional working with the maintenance team to support the operation, and provide customer service to all plant employees. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of industrial equipment, and for the installation of electrical services for new equipment and for equipment relocated and upgraded. Our ideal candidate will ensure that the plant and equipment are maintained at the highest performance level, and will strive to minimizing cost, energy usage, and waste in accordance with corporate policies and health and safety regulations. This individual will possess excellent interpersonal skills and will interact and function effectively as an integral part of the Safety, Production, Quality, and Maintenance Team here at Signode.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experienced in all industrial safe practices, including electrical Lock Out / Tag Out, and Arc Flash Safety Practices. Will make safety the first priority in all activities.
  • Working knowledge of the NEC, including the ability to size wire, conduit, and circuit protection for installed equipment. Able to install electrical power feeds to equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret Electrical and Mechanical Schematics and Drawings, Manuals, and Set-up Procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting equipment utilizing voltages from low voltage AC and DC to 480 volt DC utilized by production equipment and facility utility systems.
  • Experience working with all basic power system components such as transformers, motors (AC, DC, Servo), Drives, Push Button Control Stations, Relays, Solid State Relays, Sensors, Temperature Controllers, Circuit Protection Devices, Motor Control Centers, and all basic industrial control system components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair Electrical and Electronic Control Circuits, AC/DC Drives, Servo Drives and PLC equipment.
  • Able to become proficient at connecting departmental laptop computers to Drives, PLC's, and other Automated Control systems to troubleshoot and correct problems, and also to load software programs and files as needed.
  • Ability to install and align motors and gearboxes.
  • Solid working knowledge of basic industrial mechanical components and systems such as mechanical drives, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Proficiency at performing and reporting out on assigned PM's on equipment and systems.
  • Able to identify and request parts, supplies, and tooling needed for repairs and to replenish maintenance inventory. Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Education:
  • High School or GED is required.
  • 5 years' experience with electrical systems working within an industrial environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting live electrical systems at voltages up to 480 VAC.
  • Training and experience with Electrical Safe Practices such as Lock Out / Tag Out and Arc Flash.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Solid record of functioning as an effective team member within a production environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to issue reports and updates.
  • Experience and training in utilizing powered equipment such as fork lifts and aerial platform lifts.
  • Environment: The position requires standing, lifting of up to 50 pounds, climbing steps and ladders and working in a production environment. Use of company-provided PPE is required, including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, bump cap, and steel toe metatarsal safety shoes.
