WAITSTAFF | JOB DESCRIPTION


GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

At Magnolia, our Waitstaff contributes to Table success by providing legendary guest service to all guests. This job creates the Table experience for our guests by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable restaurant environment. This position works at Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Assistant Front of House Manager.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


AVAILABILITY

  • Full-time hourly availability only = 30+ hours per week, as assigned
    • Available to work flexible hours as assigned, including mornings, weekends, special events, and holidays


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uphold Magnolia’s mission, vision, and values
  • Ensure the highest level of guest care, in line with Magnolia’s brand
  • Work as a team player
  • Carry out instructions of Assistant Front of House Manager
  • Greet and escort guests to their table
  • Build genuine relationship with guests
  • Present menu and provide information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients, potential food allergies, etc.)
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests
  • Transmit orders to kitchen by recording guests’ choices, identifying guest’s special dietary needs, and taking note of special requests
  • Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars
  • Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Perform cash wrap and POS duties in an efficient and timely manner while maintaining a high level of guest service
  • Be aware of current promotional events and sales
  • Contribute to a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Help to maintain organization and cleanliness
  • Adhere to standards of grooming, cleanliness, and sanitation
  • Work and interact with others in a manner consistent with the Magnolia culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Food Handler's license required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks and dishwashers and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role as frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals.
