Job Description

Ortho Development is expanding the machining department due to growth. Starting pay based on experience, starting at $19.00 per hour. We are looking for 2 shifts (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM and 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM), working M - F. Specific assignments include: Material prep: using saws to cut material with good organizational skills to keep quantities and raw material inventory in line. Swing Shift Buffing Room: using sanding machine to provide uniform finish to finished product. Requires attention to detail and fine motor skills. Swing Shift Tibial Tray Milling Machine/ Production Machinist: using experience with gaging/measuring instruments. Experience with 5-axis mills a plus. 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM Poly Room Milling Machine/Production Machinist: Attention to detail, using gaging/measuring instruments. Experience with 5-axis mills a plus. 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM The Ideal candidate is responsible for producing parts for Ortho Development according to documented procedures. Knowledge of manual milling and turning, CNC and laser marking, and ability to read blueprints preferred, but not necessary. Also have a knowledge of proper measuring equipment use. CNC machining experience is a plus. Our ideal candidate is someone who wants to stay on long term, is interested in the machining trade, and is willing to learn. We are willing to train the right candidate for the position.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Follow documented procedures and work instructions for the manufacturing of Ortho Development Tibial Trays or requested parts.
  • Ensure quality in the production of tibial trays machinist manufactures and report any discrepancies or related problems in manufacturing.
  • Perform and maintain the maintenance program set forth by Ortho Development Quality Assurance
  • Keep workstations and environment organized and clean.
  • Keep up on all training procedures, documents, and maintenance sheets
  • Read and understand related prints for Ortho Development production tibial tray and its tolerancing
  • Programming and operating manual and automated coordinate measuring machines
  • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, inspect parts and help with other manufacturing tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Some college or trades school education
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Computer experience – proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Measurement and/or Inspection experience
