We are seeking applicants for Machine Operator Trainee positions in our Olive Branch, MS facilitylocated at 8489 Summit Cove, Olive Branch, MS 38654


Pay Rate Range: $18.46 - $21.90 per hour ($27.69- $32.85 per hour overtime)


Shift: 1st (6AM - 2PM)

10- hour shift: (5AM-3PM)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with machine set-up in all machine sections of Flatbed die cutters in accordance with proper setup techniques running corrugated sheets.

  • Production activities associated with running a flatbed die cutter including setup, operation, and daily cleanup throughout the production run.
  • Work with crew to maximize efficiency of machine through communication of quality problems including warp, correct size, print registration, label registration, cracked scores throughout the entire order process.
  • Monitor box quality, including but not limited to, loose liner, scoring, folding, print, proper placement/application of glue, etc., and communicate quality related issues back to operator and helper(s)
  • Ensure product is properly stacked per the factory ticket information and verify load tags
  • Maximize the utilization of the equipment byeffectively assisting the operator to run the machine at available capacity andspeed
  • Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste
  • Position requires assisting all jobs on the plant floor. Assist other department personnel, when needed, to balance the workload, organize area and perform housekeeping requirements
  • Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures
May be required to stack parts up to 50 lbs. for a period of up to 12 hours
  • Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment
  • Assume active role in overall plant facilities-related work.
  • Switch duties with crew members, which may include feeding, pulling, stacking, and packing as required.
  • Must be able to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must have a good attendance record


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment
  • Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Must be able to sit, stoop, and bend.
  • Switch duties with crew members, which may include feeding, pulling, stacking, and packing as required
  • Must be able to work either shift, including overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must have a good attendance record
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to work in production environment, with varying tempera based on season, around machinery, and forklift traffic

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to read a tape measure and verify dimensions
  • Must be able to read and follow directions on our factory ticket information
  • Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
  • Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple numbers and schedules
  • Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to reduce downtime of machines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Personal protective equipment – such as eye protection, hearing protection, foot protection, cut resistant gloves, or other special protective equipment – is necessary to reduce hazard exposure
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear for up to 12 hours daily
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, and stoop repetitively
  • Required to use hands and arms to reach, stack and turn with repetitive motion
  • Also required to stoop, kneel, and or crouch
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 85 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus
