GENERAL PURPOSE : Responsible for the operations of winding
machines to fabricate paper tubes to the required quality paper standards. Responsible for the operations of cutting
finished tubes or slitting operations for master paper rolls.
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Sets up, makes ready and runs a variety of tube winding machines to the highest productivity levels while ensuring that the quality of the product is maintained.
Uses good adhesive management.
Assists in the inventory management of raw paper material.
Conducts minor maintenance on machines.
Adjusts machines to specifications per instructions on job ticket or slitting documentation.
Follows all standard operations procedures, safety rules, work instructions, and current GMPs.
Moves master jumbo rolls to the slitter and moves slit rolls to the paper aisle as needed.
Packages industrial orders per job ticket if required.
Cuts tubes on operating machines such as Majer cutter, PACO cutter or drum cutter, as needed.
Operates forklift properly and safely as needed.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have
high school diploma or G.E.D.
Must be able to pass in-house forklift
training if required.
Must
have the ability to read and write instructions and correspondence.
Must
have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Must
pass basic reading test.
Must
have strong mathematical skills.
Must have the
ability to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test
or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
Must have
basic computer skills (email, word processing, etc.)
Must be able
to maintain good attendance.
Must be
willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required
during busy periods.[AN5]
Must be reliable and dependable.
Must be able to perform all essential
functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
