JOB SUMMARYThe vocational nurse provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse Supervisor, or Licensed Vocational Nurse Coordinator, by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (A = basics; B = preferred)
Education
A.
Graduate from an approved vocational nursing program.
B.
Experience
A.
6 months in a clinical area. May consider a new grad if hiring department can provide direct supervision for 6 months, and an acceptable preceptor is available.
B.
Licenses
A.
Current and valid Texas LVN license
B.
Special Skills
A.
Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population for the assigned clinical area. Computer experience.
B.
Windows bases computer skills EPIC experience
