Job Description
General Summary
The Lumber and Building Materials Sales Associate is responsible for assisting customers with lumber and construction related products, processing sales transactions, special orders, vendor ordering and receiving.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service
  • Project a positive representation.
  • Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
  • Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
  • Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
  • Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with purchasing decisions.
  • Assist in pricing, stocking, inventory, receiving, marking and bagging of merchandise.
Register Operations
  • Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
  • Responsible for balancing of register drawer.
  • Participate in store meetings.
Other Essential Requirements

Computer, Point of Sale Software, or other software equivalent.

Education/Training

High School or GED equivalent.

Experience

Sales experience and knowledge of lumber and building materials.

Physical Demands

Sitting a desk, standing, walking, lifting (up to 40lbs) and climbing.

Availability during open hours, 7:00am - 6:00pm Monday - Friday, Saturday 7:00am-6:00pm, Sunday 8:30am - 5:30pm
