Robins & Morton is looking for a Low Voltage Project Manager to provide transparent leadership and collaboration, ensuring we achieve customer satisfaction objectives. Specifically, the Low Voltage Project Manager will bring expertise in installing & testing structured cabling systems for voice, data & video applications. He/she will also lead trade partners installing & testing Nurse Call, Access Control, CCTV, BAS, Security, Paging, DAS & any other low Voltage System.

Competencies

  • Establish profit, time objectives, & Project Status Reports (PSR) for approval.
  • Achieve all profit, time, quality & customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Review & approve final estimates and budgets.
  • Develop project bid packages & trade partner/vendor agreements for approval.
  • Effectively negotiate agreements with trade partners/vendors in timely manner.
  • Manage key risk management documents including trade partner bonds & insurance.
  • Manage correspondence & communication.
  • Effectively manage all material procurement for projects.
  • Effectively evaluate & interpret all contract documents.
  • Manage change order process for timely delivery to owner & trade partners.
  • Manage cost reporting & tracking system & accurately forecast costs.
  • Establish billing procedures & effectively manage billing process.
  • Manage Owner Furnished Equipment verification & delivery process.
  • Track & manage cost reporting of local jobsite accounts & field purchase orders.
  • Manage closeout process (System Warranties, Customer Training, & other required documents).
  • Manage document control & accurate storage in electronic filing system.
  • Manage owner purchase order system (ODP) & owner controlled insurance or OCIP.
  • Procure project permits with all necessary agencies.
  • Positions managed by this role: Low Voltage Superintendent, Technicians, Installers, Helpers, Field Office Assistants, Project Assistants, and Jobsite Assistants.
  • Interview, hire, & train team members under your management; plan, assign & direct work; address complaints and resolve issues.

Collaboration

  • Develop & maintain Owner, Designer/Engineer, Trade partner, Vendor & Client relationships.
  • Aid Low Voltage Superintendent in developing & managing scheduling process.

Continuous Improvement

  • Help manage long-term project risks; recognize significant issues timely & review with management.
  • Assist Low Voltage Superintendent in maintaining project quality control standards.

Leadership Development

  • Provide collaborative, transparent jobsite leadership & direction.
  • Lead trade partners to successfully complete their work.
  • Develop those you work with for growth in their own skills and knowledge.

Learning Culture

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of job functions/duties of those you lead.
  • Review bonding requirements with Low Voltage Group Manager.
  • Actively participate in R&M training opportunities.

Job Qualifications:

  • Preferably, hold BICSI RCDD Certification.
  • Ability to obtain RCDD Certification within one year of joining the team.
  • Good written & oral communications.
  • Ability to read, analyze, & interpret contract documents, safety standards, operating & maintenance instructions & procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports & correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, trade partners or R&M team members.
  • Advanced analytical & reading skills.
  • Ability to establish professional, trusting & meaningful relationships with Clients, Designers & staff.
  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft Office Programs;
  • Preferably, working knowledge of Timberline Cost Reporting, Procore or other Project Management software, Accubid Estimating & VISIO software.
  • Ability to calculate figures & amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference & volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra & geometry.
  • Ability to use basic reasoning & to resolve issues quickly with little or no direction.
  • Ability to interpret variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Ability to make good judgments and render good decisions.
  • Ability to lead an independent project up to $10M, or larger project under supervision.
  • Advanced understanding of blueprint reading.
  • Ability to recognize quality work. Ability to coordinate different activities.
  • Knowledge of industry safety procedures in accordance with OSHA.
  • Thorough knowledge of estimating & preconstruction process.
  • Knowledge of contracting & subcontracting bonding & insurance requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under time constraints, pressure and stress.
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. on average.
  • Able to work at elevated heights or underground, or to climb ladders.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time in outside weather conditions, including heat and direct sunlight.
  • Ability to withstand regular exposure to dirt, underground and elevated heights.

  • This position is an Exempt position and is not subject to overtime pay.
  • This position is assigned to jobsite locations; travel/relocation is required.
  • This position is part of the Self-Perform Work Group and reports directly to the Low Voltage Manager.
