SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Logistics Representative II (LR II) Managed Transportation is primarily responsible for managing the general business operations and day to day processes for their respective assigned client accounts and teams, ensuring that operational standard operating procedures are followed, while growing their business within GlobalTranz as a whole. The LR II will work directly with respective stakeholders to ensure our customers receive the highest customer service levels and a smooth start-to-finish experience with GlobalTranz. Additionally, the LR II is responsible for ensuring all daily tasks are completed in accordance within sub-department policy and procedure guidelines and any additional customer-specific standard operating procedures. The LR II should be an analytical problem solver, a clear communicator, able to work independently while being a team player, and willing and able to handle multiple tasks and priorities. The LR II is an individual with professional experience of at least 2 years with GlobalTranz or similar external role.

  • Develop interactive relationships with vendors, customers, carriers, coworkers, and leadership
  • Primary day to day point of contact for assigned customers
  • May provide direction or support to less experienced Logistics Representatives
  • Understand the various GTZ products available for Managed Transportation clients
  • Manage order entry and create orders for customers through web-based systems, phone, and email
  • Coordinate and schedule pick-up and/or delivery appointments for assigned customers
  • Track & trace shipments across different modes of transit and update GTZ systems accordingly
  • Ensure quality control with regard to pricing on customer invoices, accurate carrier rate confirmations, and support with billing issues
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Investigate, troubleshoot and escalate issues as they arise
  • Initiate calls to customers to advise shipment delays and/or information necessary to shipment status
  • Initiate traces with carriers for proof of delivery when needed
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to handling difficult situations and provide timely feedback to direct supervisor regarding service failures, customer complaints, or any other matters regarding his/her attention
  • Collaborate with account management team to meet and exceed customers’ service expectations
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to pricing and carrier procurement as needed in collaboration with full truckload and LTL operations teams
  • Work to meet and exceed service and operational goals established for the team, including productivity, timeliness, and other goals as directed
  • Develop a working knowledge of the various GTZ systems for shipment order management
  • Attend and contribute to periodic team meetings to build positive working relationships with peers and promote productivity and efficiency
  • Afterhours, weekend, and holiday flexibility (we operate 24/7/365)
  • Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience with GlobalTranz or in a similar external role is required

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary.

Minimal travel may be required.
