Are you looking for a career in a challenging and fast-paced industry essential to the American economy? We are seeking an organized, customer centered, responsive and detail oriented Logistics Coordinator to work at our Three Forks, Montana Operations Office.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE As it relates to different plants of Magris Talc in the US and Canada. Coordinate and assign contracted rail carriers to move freight according to customer expectations in compliance with regulations and company policy, while balancing cost, quality and customer service. Maintain a sound, cost effective and appropriately sized rail fleet to serve our customers. Also, coordinate rail related data to ensure accurate metrics regarding key transportation performance measures, as well as coordinate Intelitrans data and reports for all locations. Fill in for members of the Supply Chain dept. as needed.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist Transportation Manager and Supply Chain Director with carrier feedback for the truck bids as needed.

· Assist and provide feedback to the Transportation Manager in preparation of the annual Transportation budget

· Research and report Logistics P&L anomalies for truck, & LTL.

· Communicate new carrier solicitations to Transportation Manager and make recommendations based on carrier qualifications

· Ensure terms of contract/agreements and rates with carriers are maintained as required by corporate guidelines

· Work with sales team and Equipment Managers on moving of equipment into and out of customs to the manufacturing site.

· Bid and coordinate LTL shipments

· Work with dispatch or local salesperson to address service issues w/carriers. Elevate to Transportation manager as needed.

· Work with TMS and Transportation Manager to establish and change reports to monitor carrier performance reviews to include on time delivery and on time pick up performance.

· Track shipments on an as needed basis

· Coordinate with TMS software provider to ensure accurate rate base tendering, efficiency of process and full utilization of software functionality.

· Ensure customer freight requirements are met by monitoring assigned contracted carrier freight movements, customer orders and carrier compliance as needed.

· Maintain and update carriers and carrier rates in ERP, TMS software and Talc Truck Rate Guide

· Communicate with carriers for loading and delivery times as needed.

· Work with various departments to investigate and resolve rate or accessorial discrepancies.

· File and assist in truck related damage and quality claims.

· Investigate and process misc. trucking related charges and payment discrepancies

· Trained to be back up for the Transportation Manager position, Demand Planner-Inventory & Warehouse Manager position and Rail Coordinator position.

· Maintain and communicate assigned logistics dashboard/KPI’s

· New carrier set up to include filing carrier insurance and documentation.

· Maintain current carrier documents and proof of insurance in a database

· Enter and maintain carrier rates into ERP and Talc truck rate guide.

· Assist in obtaining freight quotes with the direction of Transportation Manager and Demand Planner-Inventory & Warehouses Manager

· Enter and maintain carrier rates into ERP and Talc truck rate guide.

· Meet with Transportation Manager and local carrier reps to improve relations and address any service issues.

· Take on special projects on an as needed basis

· Support and participate in company Safety related objectives

· Other duties as required

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements:

· High school Diploma or equivalent required

· Bachelor’s degree in business or Supply Chain preferred or equivalent experience

· Experience in accounting/logistics preferred

· Experience within manufacturing or mining preferred

Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:

· Minimum 2 years of experience with truckload and LTL freight.

· Basic knowledge of accounting and profit and loss concept

· Intermediate to advanced Microsoft product user. Excel super user preferred.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work in a face paced, priority changing environment

· Microsoft AX or other ERP software experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
