NYC Test & Trace Crops *Temporary/Grant Funded*

The Test and Trace Corps (T2) is looking for a Logistics Associate to join the team. The primary responsibility of this job is to ensure the seamless planning and managing of the logistical details for one of three Program within the T2 operation. To support the effective operational efforts, the Logistics Associate will focus on managing logistics for the Trace Program, which employs 600+ Community Engagement Specialist and Community Engagement Supervisor (collectively referred to as CES) contact tracers. These individuals travel into communities to reach cases (persons diagnosed with COVID-19) and contacts (persons exposed to COVID-19) that could not be readily reached over the phone.

The Logistics Associate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Director, Logistics, in coordinating with the Enhanced Investigation Unit, namely, and other Trace Program units as needed for all logistics and supply chain-related needs and fulfillments. This role may also provide support for supply chain needs across all T2 programs.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Logistics, the Logistics Associate for the Trace Program will be responsible for:

  • Working with internal NYC Health + Hospitals (H+H) staff across various departments to ensure supplies are provided for the Trace Program’s 600+ CES
  • Organizing regular, ongoing [i.e. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); materials for CES to give out during visits] distribution for all CES, such as replenishment events every 6-8 weeks
  • Tracking large supply orders in collaboration with internal (H+H Supply Chain) and external partners, including reconciling original orders and addressing delivery issues
  • Troubleshooting supply demands for CES’, including ensuring each contact tracer receives an accurate amount of supplies
  • Analyzing supply burn rates as CES’ deploy in the field, including forward planning to address the potential resurgence of COVID-19 transmission
  • Recommending to the Senior Director, Logistics, potential long-term solutions for supply burn rate
  • Assisting in all supply and logistics matters for the Trace Program’s involvement with T2 COVID-19 Travel Advisory operational efforts, including assisting with launching programs at various transit sites across New York City such as Penn Station, Port Authority, and surrounding NYC airports
  • Overeall support of the supply chain needs across all T2 Programs, as directed
  • Establishing strong, collaborative relationships with key NYC H+H, City agency and external stakeholders to support logistics and supply chain efforts related to the Trace Program
  • Providing status reports across program leadership regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues
  • Other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Baccalaureate Degree with a major in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; and,
  • Three years of experience in accounting, finance or business administration, of which two years shall have been wholly within those areas normally related to a hospital, medical center or health care facility in a supervisory capacity, and two years of which must have been spent in a capacity related to the management of purchasing; or,
  • A satisfactory equivalent. The education cited above may be substituted for by experience on a year-for-year basis, except that there shall be a minimum education of graduation from a four-year senior high school or High School Equivalency Diploma.

Department Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4+ years of experience, or Master’s degree or equivalent with 2+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of supply chain basics a plus
  • Ability to effectively plan and coordinate logistics with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to make decisions and complete work independently within broadly defined work objectives
  • Knowledge of supply chain basics a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in NYC government and/or public health entities/hospitals/community-based organizations a plus
  • Prior experience working for H+H and/or any large, multi-site hospital system
  • PC and/ or OS operating systems
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • NYC Residency
