Position Description:

Serco Inc. is looking for a highly motivated Logistics Specialists to join our Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) team supporting Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) command. This position supports a broad portfolio of Autonomous Maritime System (AMS) programs in the San Diego, CA/NIWC PAC geographic region onboard a fast-growing local team.

This position is contingent upon the ability to maintain a SECRET Clearance Level


The Logistics Specialists will be supporting Unmanned Surface Platforms by Performing complex logistics activities in support of NIWC-PAC within established procedures including data management, shipping & receiving, inventory control and supply maintenance.


In this role, you will:


Receiving inbound materials and updates Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) databases containing tracking information to include pricing and part numbers.
  • Populates required DoD documentation for shipping & receiving activities.
  • Coordinates procurements and acquisition analyst team for inbound shipment planning.
  • Facilitates final delivery to end user customers at NIWC facilities.
  • Prepares related reports and documentation per NIWC customer request.
  • Verifies shipping records on incoming and outgoing shipments with bills, invoices, or other records.
  • Verifies materials received are as ordered in relation to quantity and part number.
  • Prepares all necessary shipment documentation, such as: Bill of Ladings, Pallet Labels, and Packing Lists.
  • Collects data metrics for order dates, lead time, and delivery.
  • Works cooperatively with cross functional teams on daily activities.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable disciplnie (Configuration/Change Management, Process Management, Database Administration, Engineering Tech Support) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
  • 1 year experience with sea-based unmanned systems logistics requirements including tracking, scheduling and forecasting USV sustainment.
  • A Secret level security clearance is required at the beginning of employment.
  • Knowledge of the practices, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements involved in Navy logistics.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Configuration Management Certification from CMPIC, CMII, or similar industry provider
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Naval Supply Procedures.
  • Familiarity with Unique Material Master (UMM) system on NSWC PCD
