This Logistics Analyst II will be part of a dynamic team, which enhances product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory in support of Navy Ashore/Afloat units as directed by a designated customer lead for Federal Services/HAZMAT Program operations in our Whidbey Island location. Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Federal Services/HAZMAT Program contract which supports their defense work in Whidbey Island. Our team plays a key part of the US Navy Ashore/Afloat activities with HAZMAT and CHRIMP support.

You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams which have been recognized by the U.S. Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.


In this role as a Logistics Analyst II you will:
  • Review and follow procedures for Ashore/Afloat support in partnership with US Navy civilian team members also providing support to activities.
  • Be familiar with a variety of US Navy Ashore/Afloat and HAZMAT management concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform a variety of tasks under an assigned team lead.
  • Create and review procedures for distribution and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with some initial training being provided
  • Provide Ashore and Afloat support for the US Navy CHRIMP Customers at Whidbey Island.
  • Report directly to a manager.

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Provide general sustainment support to field activities.
  • Support will include all aspects of material management/tracking support including the following: conducting physical inventories, conducting material research using US Navy/commercial systems and databases, and supporting container labeling initiatives.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation.
  • Ability to work with various personnel (military, civilian and contractor staff) to support of CHRIMP sustainment requirements.
  • Familiarity with various Navy Logistics and HAZMAT concepts, practices, and procedures including experience with utilizing the Navy’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Ability to use MS Office Suite and possess intermediate-level experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Provide support inventory, data collection, and processing of HAZMAT data for building into the Navy’s system of record.
  • Ability to quickly analyze customer problems, identify possible courses of action, provide recommendations for customer consideration, and follow up with guidance or training as needed.


This position supports a U.S. Government contract whose terms require that applicants possess U.S. Citizenship.
Qualifications: To be successful in this Logistics Analyst II role, you will have:
  • NACI
  • Bachelor's Degree or 6+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in DoD and/or Commercial Logistics/Inventory Management, US Navy HAZMAT management or equivalent experience.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
