Job Description
Primary Responsibilities :

Reporting to a Loan Origination Manager, the Loan Origination Specialist provides support for a team of credit underwriters for an assigned portfolio of credit relationships. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Pre-Closing Activities

  • Manage and maintain an individual pipeline of active loan transactions and back up co-workers as needed
  • Review draft and executed loan documents prepared by Outside Counsel (e.g. loan agreement, notes, guaranties and security documents) for consistency with approved terms and to extract/relay pertinent details for entry into credit exposure system
  • Review executed legal documents and validate Bank signatures
  • Coordinate handoff with Proposal Specialist to ensure legal documents, credit proposal and approval package align
  • Download documents from deal sites (e.g. Intralinks, SyndTrak) when applicable.
  • Collect various due diligence items and submit to Closer for booking and funding
  • Coordinate with various WLS teams, Credit, and outside counsel to ensure all closing requirements are obtained/met

Post-Closing Activities
  • Follow up with attorneys to collect legal documentation packages to clear associated exceptions
  • Monitor weekly past due legal document reports
  • Coordinate with WLS to correct any errors made in on-boarding credit facilities to the loan system
  • Coordinate with WLS for the release, substitution or addition of collateral
  • Work on special projects as needed

Qualifications :
  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in loan/product operations or a credit/lending environment
  • Strong understanding of credit loan products (revolving lines of credit and term loans) and ability to understand moderate to complex loan structures
  • Ability to understand and navigate through loan documents
  • General experience with related credit systems such as iCRD, Aurora and DealWorks.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent partnerships and relationships throughout CB, including Credit Underwriters, WLS, and Middle Office Support teams, etc.
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, good interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Detail oriented with ability to multi-task, manage priorities effectively
  • Ability to take initiative and self-motivate, as well as work as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and flexible individual with excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to ongoing changes
  • Strong PC skills on Windows based applications.
