Job Description

SUMMARY

Twisted Trompo is looking for energetic and caring line cooks to manage food preparation at our Garland location. We are looking for line cooks with a true passion for food and the restaurant industry as well as a genuine interest in connecting with coworkers. Our line cooks will work in a state of the art kitchen equipped with established food production programs, procedures and documented food recipes. Line cooks will be responsible for utilizing food product, supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud while following sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards. Above all else, the line cook will be responsible for delivering meticulously prepared food on all shifts to ensure their Guests have a great food experience at Twisted Trompo.

The Line Cook reports to the General Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary responsibilities include:
General Culinary

  • Ensure all Guests have a great food experience at all times.
  • Read tickets and prepare all food items to order following documented recipes and standard procedures.
  • Meticulously prepare recipes, plate presentations and to go packaging while setting up according to tickets.
  • Perfectly prepares food served using established production procedures and systems.
  • Sets up the line; cooks and serves food for eat in and carry out.
  • Properly uses the flat top, fryer and trompo machine to flawlessly make items as per the recipe.
  • Prep for assigned food items. Wash and clean raw food products. Peel, dice, shred and slice food products using electric equipment. Count all prepped items used, checking for quality and proper rotation.
  • Complies with sanitation and health standards, personal hygiene. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Stores food safely, marking the dates descriptions and completes food temperature checks before service.
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to Shift Leader and General Manager
  • Maintain cooking line in a clean, sanitary and safe manner. Complete daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Maintain personal health and sanitation standards.
  • Stock/restock items on line according to specifications.
  • Label, date, rotate and store all items properly.
  • Deliver a well put together kitchen image including equipment appearance, cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Able to interact with Guests in a friendly/fast manner.
  • Ensure every item delivered to the Guest is made to order and presented perfectly.

Food Prep Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:

  • AM/PM prep
  • Cutting/slicing
  • Vegetable/Produce prep
  • Equipment cleaning

Food Safety

  • Practices and enforces sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service.
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Must have a Professional Food Server Certification.
  • Will uphold all Food Safety guidelines.
  • Responsible for delivering superior food preparation and service.

Guest Service

  • Ensure positive Guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied Guests into return Guests.
  • Always strives to exceed Guests’ expectations.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment.

Pay Rate

  • $10/hr.

Shift Hours

  • 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • 4:00pm – 1:00am
  • 11:00pm – 7:00am
