Job Description
- SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position) Behavioral Health Consultants in our clinics will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team which may include a family physician, nurse practitioner, PA, nurse, care coordinator, medical assistant, dietitian, and a psychiatrist. BHC’s will provide consultation and brief, short term, solution-focused assessment and interventions to patients in order to improve overall function and health using a bio-psycho-social approach.
- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience Master’s degree in Social Work LMSW is required, LCSW is preferred Two to three years experience working with mental health patients preferred Experience providing individual and group therapy preferred (Especially brief therapies such as MI, CBT, ACT, PST, and Behavioral Activation Effective communication skills —both verbal and written Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to perform critical analysis Self-directed, Positive attitude Ability to work collaboratively with a team Ability to receive and implement feedback from supervisor Flexible, persistent and able to function well in novel situations Some travel to AHG clinics in Arkansas may be required Commitment to be part of team and program which is growing and developing
