Responsibilities: Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Behavioral Health Professional with Corizon Health at Shawnee County Jail located in Topkea, Kansas:
  • Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
  • Performs administrative consultives for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the Institution.
  • Perform specific psychiatric social service work on the Mental Health Unit of a Correctional Facility.
  • Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects as requested.
  • Participates in and conducts in-service programs, as well as assists in the orientation of new staff.
  • Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Requirements:
  • Graduation from a Master’s level program in mental health services.
  • LPC, LCSW or Licensed Psychologist is required.
  • Minimum of two years employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent.
  • Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.
  • Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
  • Required to kneel, stoop, crouch and/or crawl occasionally.
  • Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising your health and well-being or that of your fellow employees or that of inmates.
  • Long periods sitting, typing and reading from a computer screen may be required.

A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
