Position Overview:

The Lead Web Developer will serve as a key member of Viscira's Web Development Team and will be directly involved in creating new media communication solutions, web applications and web sites for Viscira's life sciences and pharmaceutical client programs.

This position is a full-time project lead role reporting to the company’s Director of Software Development. The person will also work closely with the company’s entire Production Team (Producers, Designers, Video Editors, 2D and 3D Animators).

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop web sites and web applications using PHP web frameworks and CMS’s including Joomla!, Laravel and WordPress.
• Develop automation script to provision, deploy, manage or scale systems.
• Lead backend and front-end development for projects from planning to deployment.
• Develop rich, interactive, enterprise web applications for desktop and mobile using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Create clean, efficient, well-documented code.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to junior Web Developer (s) as assigned.
• Assist the Director with recruitment of Web Developers and other staff as assigned.
• Experience with web frameworks and architecting systems that support reuse of components.
• Experience using modern tool-chain for enterprise development.
• Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

• Bachelors’ degree in related field.
• At least 3-4 years of professional experience in related field required.
• Experience developing components, models, plugins and/or complex web applications for WordPress, Joomla or Laravel.
• Expert understanding of PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Strong understanding of OOP.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of front-end frameworks for desktop and mobile.
• Ability to develop HTML pages from existing design build-out materials.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and able to work as a team player.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Advertising agency experience a plus.
• Pro-active attitude; highly self-motivated and able to work without constant oversight.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of professional staff from varied disciplines and backgrounds.
• Must possess a highly-positive and service-oriented approach to working both internally and externally.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Ability to effectively handle and protect sensitive and confidential company information.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience working within a leading interactive advertising agency or web development firm.
• Experience or knowledge of the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech or general healthcare industries.
• Previous success working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Some scientifically-oriented design and development experience a big plus.

• Experience with .Net/C#, Ruby, Java, Rust or Go
• Experience with Salesforce
• AWS certification or experience
• Experience with devops tools and deployments
• Experience with data migration
• Familiarity with debugging and profiling tools
• Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and web tools and the ability to edit images
• Knowledge of XML, CSV, JSON or other database interchange formats
