As Lead Software Engineer on the Connected Entities team you will have the opportunity to lead a team of engineers to build new greenfield capabilities in New Relic's fastest-growing products in infrastructure & server monitoring.

What You’ll Do
  • Actively drive continuous engineering excellence within your team and across the organization.
  • Use your experience to drive the team’s technical roadmap.
  • Engage with the team members and architects to discuss and implement service improvements and new development.
  • Partner with Product Management and UX/Design to solve challenging customer problems.
  • Ship incrementally and often, helping the team to maintain a constant flow of feedback on its work.
  • Implement rich, interactive data visualizations using modern JavaScript and software development techniques.
  • Collaborate with designers and other UI engineers across the company to contribute to the community and stay up to date on the company’s UI standard methodologies.
  • Mentor other engineers on the team and beyond, and feel passionate about improving software by constant iteration with your team.
  • Be responsible for your deliverables from inception to operation and maintenance, including participating in team on-call rotations and support activities.
Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 5+ years engineering experience building production single-page applications with modern JavaScript front-end frameworks (including React).
  • 2+ years experience in a technical leadership role, driving technical decision-making within an Agile engineering team/organization.
  • Experience in mentorship and support for helping level-up the skills of colleagues.
  • Experience building distributed systems and have a good understanding of scalability patterns.
  • Experience with tools like React Hooks, Apollo GraphQL, and Storybook; Understanding of GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with front-end JS testing tools and a comprehensive understanding of UI testing techniques
  • Experience in shipping and desire to continue to develop production, 24x7, highly reliable, high-throughput services.
  • Ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of Cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) services and architectures.
  • Experience with Observability platforms and best practices
