Job Description SummaryThe Program Manager is responsible for leading and executing the GE Hitachi Nuclear Parts Business's Obsolescence program from identification, prioritization, and delivery of replacement products to the various product lines. This includes overall program management, product line alignment, customer interaction, engineering coordination, supplier interface for manufacturing and initial product delivery, and project management of the functional aspects of the program.

The person selected for this role will also be trained as a Project Manager supporting the Electrical, Electronic, Motor’s product lines where they will direct the successful quote and/or order fulfillment of the PARTS – E&M product lines that are assigned to deliver high quality ITO/OTR process results associated with quote review, quote issuance, order entry, customer order requirements reviews, technical and financial order classification, configuration review, scheduling, and backlog management. The cross-training will permit candidate to support multiple product lines from both ITO/OTR Project Management function depending on business needs. The immediate focus for this role will be to support the Motors product line

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establish program/product priorities for obsolete parts within the PARTS business.
  • Implement project controls for the overall program
  • Facilitate development of business cases for initiation of replacement solutions
  • Interact with customers to understand their obsolescence issues.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Maintain cognizance of industry issues and initiatives related to equipment obsolescence.
  • Project manage of the various obsolete parts initiatives to ensure replacement solutions are delivered in accordance with established budgets and schedules.
  • Input all schedule milestones and financials in GEH project tracking tools.
  • Interface with other GE businesses and suppliers with occasional travel for inspections or coordination to maintain schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure all quality requirements are met
  • Takes accountability for work tasks, actively resolves issues quickly and approaches problem solving by identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions to avoid future incidents of the same.
  • Provide periodic updates of status to Senior Product Line Manager and Product Line Leaders.
  • Key performance metrics can/will include Quote cycle Time, Quote Backlog, On-Time-Delivery (OTD), Win-Rate, OTR cycle times, continuous improvement projects and waste reduction.
  • Be the focal point among all stakeholders – i.e., customer, ITO (Inquiry-to-Order) PM, OTR (Order to Remittance PM, Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, Finance, Product Line Leaders, Scheduling, Manufacturing, and Logistics to ensure quote / order fulfillment meets or exceeds business and customer requirements.
  • Able to proactivly identify and resolve problems to minimize quote / order delays and/or customer dissatisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business or equivalent (High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of Project Management or technical and relevant experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of Program Management / Project Management / Business Management / Quality Management / Supplier Management with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with proposals, pricing, product delivery, supplier, quality, customer interface.

Desired Characteristics

  • Basic financial knowledge in revenue, income statement, balance sheet, cash, inventory, OM, and CM
  • Prior PARTS or obsolescence replacement experience
  • Green Belt certified / Black Belt certified (GE employees only)
  • Proven leadership capabilities with ability to motivate others and achieve results
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively interface with customers and technical support teams
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Customer experience or industry experience with knowledge of BWR / PWR systems and equipment

  • Strong knowledge and/or experience of ITO / OTR processes
  • Previous experience in parts supply chain
  • Proven history of job performance and stability in past jobs held
  • Experience and understanding of GEH and knowledge of nuclear product and services
  • Strong Oracle familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
  • 3+ years of experience interfacing or managing at all levels within organization

The salary range for this position is $81-$100K. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
