Our Inova Lab at the Schar Cancer Institute is seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Technical Assistant 2-PSC. Day/Evenings, Rotating Weekends
Work Location: 8081 Innovation Park Dr., Fairfax, VA 22031
Hours: Will be based on department needs

H.S. diploma or equivalent.

Some of the duties include:
- Performs proper specimen collection or blood products, by confirming patient/donor ID, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques, and accurately labeling the specimens/blood products to ensure accurate patient results.
- Provides excellent patient and customer service by using AIDET principles and assuring the correctness and quality of technical information and directions provided to customers is appropriate.
- Performs registration and reviews billing information accurately and efficiently in order to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manages specimen accessioning and processing accurately and efficiently to provide quality specimens for laboratory testing.
- Inova is well stocked with the best and latest PPE
- Masks are provided to patients entering our buildings, and offered free to visitors
- Covid-19 patients are isolated in dedicated areas
- Inova operates curbside Covid-19 testing sites that are far removed from the main facilities
- All team members are trained in the latest screening guidelines
Requirements
Experience:3-5 years experience in a Patient Service Center environment or at least 6 month with the Inova organization
Education:
H.S. diploma or equivalent.
Certifications:
- CPR within 1 year of hire.
- Certification from an accredited phlebotomy program or successful completion of the Inova Phlebotomy Training Program.
- Completion of Phlebotomy training can also be from another Allied health training program such as Medical Assistant, MLT or MT.-Proficient in Competencies 1.0; 2.0; 3.0 and 5.0
