Lab Processor

Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a Lab Processor for our Central Lab located in Westerville, OH. The The Student Processor assists the laboratory in achieving Central Ohio Primary Care’s mission of being the best laboratory in primary care by receiving specimens used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and preparing the samples for testing. The employee performs a limited amount of routine and stat processing. This position is responsible for entering patient and specimen data. Duties are limited to those processing functions that present minimal risk of exposure. This will be a part-time position working Monday- Friday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all laboratory safety protocols.
• Assist with receiving, logging, sorting, counting and processing specimens. Prepare specimens for technical testing.
• Retrieve samples for add-on testing.
• Sort and file requisitions.
• Prepare batches for Reference Lab Testing.
• Stock inventory and maintains a clean work area. Fill supply orders for sites. Dispose biohazard material in the correct container.
• Customer service duties such as answer phone, look up results, fax or print results, etc.
• Attend required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• All other assigned duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Licensures & Certifications

Required: Must be at least 16 years of age

Preferred: Planning to pursue a career in healthcare
