Junior Costing Accountant

Jr.COST ACCOUNTANT

We are currently seeking a dynamic and results oriented individual that will take on our Supply Cost Accountant role. This person is responsible for activities related to inventory cost management and is the main link between the finance and sales. Candidate will be responsible for inputting and explaining the Inventory and associated costs as well as be able to analyze and report back to Finance major variances.

• Expert knowledge of accounting for manufacturing plant operations.
• Detail oriented with exceptionally strong analytic skills.
• Establish and deploy cost accounting policies.
• Solid experience in analyzing trends, variance and cost-benefit.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual cost accounting reports.
• Develop and maintain accurate product costs
• Audit item costs costing programs and systems for accuracy
• Ensure rates are appropriate and are kept updated with changes in the business
• Coordinate proper cost absorption in inventory valuation
• Assist Sales Team and Pricing Analyst with proposals for new products and business
• Communicate variances and cost explanations to Management Team
• Evaluate key performance indicators (KPI's) and communicate issues to Management
• Perform cost / benefit analysis for new projects
• Set standard costs for all products and directed the implementation of cost accounting methods and activities
• Accumulated and applied overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
• Reported on breakeven points margins and periodic variances by products and work centers
• Prepared account reconciliations and budget comparisons
• Bachelor degree or equivalent is required. Finance, Accounting or Operations degrees are preferred.
• Good attention to detail and strong process improvement is a must.
• Inventory cost management and Standard Cost experience is preferred.
• Assistance on monthly reconciliations on cost variances.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
• ERP experience is must.
