To learn more about Berry, visit berryglobal.comResponsibilities: Responsible for assisting the Shift Technician in a number of activities involving monitoring and processing of injection molding machines to ensure safety and high quality while maximizing machine efficiency. Asists with mold set ups as needed and interacts with support departments to perform Machine/Mold repairs.
  • Provide Cell support by:
    • Assist or perform color changes as required (IMM).
    • Assist or perform mold resets and mold pulls.
    • Clean mold parting lines and grease mold areas as needed.
    • Restart machines from interruptions and shut machine down as needed.
    • Blow water out from tools.
    • Follow data and process documentation.
    • Fill out daily process checklist
    • Sort the shots according to their cavity number for QA submissions.
    • Perform basic troubleshooting on auxiliary equipment (conveyors, grinders, etc.).
    • Clean the conveyors, closing machine tracks, feed track on feeder bowls, and other auxiliary equipment as needed.
    • Assist other technicians as needed.
  • Improvements
    • Communicates with prior and oncoming shift personnel regarding daily issues encountered.
    • Investigates scrap reduction techniques within work cell and improves part capture.
    • Working with Shift Leader and Continuous Improvement & Process Manager, brainstorms continuous improvement ideas to maximize productivity and efficiencies.
  • Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.
Qualifications: Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • RJG Master Molder I Certificate Preferred
Skills:
  • Experience working in an injection molding environment for at least 1 year
  • Proven problem solving abilities
  • Troubleshooting and processing experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Some exposure to office environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand/walk 80% of the time.
