Your Role

Gensler Los Angeles is currently seeking an experienced Job Captain with a successful track record working with teams on workplace interiors. In this position, you will collaborate with a team of designers and architects to produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to team members to ensuring our projects exceed client expectations.

What You Will Do

  • Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of projects

  • Provide project team coordination for incorporating design intent into construction documentation

  • Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues and maintain quality control during construction

  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives

  • Utilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts

Your Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related professional experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design

  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications and construction techniques

  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation

  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills

  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCad, with experience in Adobe CS, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software a plus

  • Architectural registration and LEED accreditation preferred or in process
