Client is seeking an IT Project Lead to manage the development, design, and implementation of IT solutions supporting Defense Business Systems (SAP ERP, ServiceNow, etc.). The IT Project Lead is responsible for the entire project lifecycle including developing charters and work plans, capturing requirements, structuring and mobilizing project teams, managing stakeholders, resolving barriers to successful project implementation, driving effective decision making and delivering status updates/recommendations to senior leaders. Work location is client site, Fort Belvoir, VA.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • In coordination with Government Lead, develop and manage key project artifacts such as project charters, schedules, status reports and work plans to plan, execute, and monitor project activities
  • Ensure all development activities are aligned with industry standards and best practices
  • Responsible for status reports, stakeholder management, project reviews, and other project performance functions
  • Facilitate workshops and other meetings to support the project/development lifecycle
  • Work with Master Scheduler to develop overall project management calendars and schedules that accurately reflect the scope of the work holistically and by initiative to ensure visibility and alignment to organization priorities and resource allocation
  • Work with geographically dispersed cross functional partners to align resources against project needs and work collaboratively to identify and address gaps
  • Set clear expectations with stakeholders for their respective role in delivering the defined project(s) on time and budget ensuring organizational transparency, accountability and risk mitigation
  • Monitor and control project execution
  • Identify cost, schedule, and performance risks and issues then develop mitigation steps and courses of action to manage project outcomes
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to maintain overall project schedule
  • Provide guidance and decisions in regards to all development based on scope, schedule and performance
  • Manage all project documentation and maintain configuration control for project documents until transition/project close-out
  • Provide input to training development and support testing activities
  • Develop and deliver effective presentations to Senior Leaders to communicate status and support effective decision making
  • Supporting weekly trading partner meetings to track status, progress, and issues related to Army Defense Business Systems and ARDAP cross program development efforts
  • Supporting weekly status coordination meetings in support of the ARDAP, AESIP Hub Project Management Division; Master Data Management and Enterprise Hub Services Team
  • Work Master Data redesign efforts in ERP and Non-ERP systems
  • Assist the Government Lead in preparation, providing subject matter expertise and taking actions in support of the Data Sub Integrated Product Team
  • Support other ARDAP initiatives as necessary to include TMT Taskers
  • Support the contracts group within ARDAP in creating project estimates, reviewing proposals and writing proposal documentation for development
  • Support ServiceNow as a project coordinator, reviewing demands submitted by resources, assigning demand managers and ensuring demands are ready to be presented at internal portfolio boards and have all necessary information needed
  • Support the creation of changes requests ensuring information is complete and accurate
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Up to 10% travel expected

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience with designing and implementing IT projects within the DoD
  • Minimum 3-5 years hands-on project management experience in the design and implementation of cross-functional strategic IT projects and business process initiatives
  • Army logistics Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience such as GCSS-Army or LMP
  • Strong management skills with proven ability to drive projects to successful completion-on time and within budget are required
  • Experience in transforming concepts into well-defined initiatives and then driving project teams to produce measurable results
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • ERP master data experience
  • Experience migrating systems to the cloud
  • Experience with ServiceNow
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or other Agile certification
