The IT/Logistics Services Manager is accountable for providing daily Application Execution and Level 1 (L1) application and hardware support for the facility. This role serves as the site's primary point of contact for systems-related issues, collaborating closely with the local DC Operations Team, the Distribution Process Center of Excellence (CoE) and BD IT. This role applies technical knowledge of the WMS to troubleshoot and configure the system specifically to support site-specific distribution operations. Provides system and software management, maintenance, security support to ensure optimum system integrity and performance.

This role routinely communicates with the site's leadership on the status of site-specific projects and modifications/upcoming upgrades to software, partnering also with BD cross functional teams, software application vendors and various DC teams. This role ensures that system/software modifications and project deadlines are met or exceeds the guidelines as specified by the project managers while reducing impact to daily operations.

This role is also accountable for the site's governance and maintenance of its WMS, ensuring warehouse applications are in compliance with site-specific regulatory and quality requirements. This position reports to the Associate Director for the DC. This position requires heavy travel and the requirement to reside in or relocate to the Atlanta/ Covington, GA area.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Technical Support. Accountable for maintaining the operation of all computer systems for the facility - specifically providing Level 1 application and hardware support and conducting initial triage when there are system issues at the DC. Troubleshoots, repairs, and provides system maintenance. On call 24 hours a day up to 7 days a week. Maintains contact with vendors for support and repair of systems hardware and equipment to keep all systems running appropriately. Interacts with BD IT support team to ensure network connectivity between ERPs and other systems.

  • Maintenance. Responsible for the tracking and recommendation for purchase of site-specific hardware and software for the warehouse and office. Upon approval from management, this role initiates the purchase request for the new equipment.

  • Regional Business Development. Interacts closely with the Business Units and Quality to understand their requirements. Works with Distribution Process CoE Team in the translation, testing and implementation of business requirements into system requirements. Partners with peers across the DCs to identify best practices, efficiency opportunities and to resolve business challenges by relating them to WMS system functionality and operations.

  • Reporting/Measurements. Works closely with DC operations, leaders and associates and the Business Process CoE Team to configure within the WMS the tools required for collecting and reporting the data necessary in the running of the facility, as well as providing the user support and training required to use said tools.

  • Quality. Participates in quality programs and quality project teams. Owns BD audits relating to the system and applications including quality and regulatory alignment.

  • Master Data. Responsible for data quality of functional Master Data specific to the site. Reports data anomalies to Distribution Process CoE team for resolution and improvement of data quality.

  • Information Technology. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting network databases and systems, updating system hardware and software, troubleshooting for system errors, and assisting team members in supporting all data security and optimization. An extensive background in technology and computer science, with experience in maintaining and installing IT systems, is a must.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Supply Chain, Distribution/Transportation Operations; Excellent understanding of warehouse operations, with industry-specific experience a plus

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an integral member of a project team and applying project management best practices

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products

PROFICIENT :
  • Ability to train and teach associates

  • Expert working knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, MS Project, Visio for developing functional specifications, analyzing flows and data and setting performance metrics

  • Comprehensive end-to-end knowledge of DC processes and operations and the implications of each step of the process on the other steps

  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.

  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Logical and efficient

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required

  • Highly self-motivated and directed

EDUCATION:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain or related technical discipline.
