Role Overview

Fisker is in search of a Buyer-IT Category to transform and optimize our processes to allow our company to scale. This role requires exceptional procurement, communication, and organizational skills. A successful candidate needs to thrive in a pressurized environment using data and facts to help identify risks, manage resources, and solve problems quickly and effectively. A strong team ethic with the ability to interact at all levels and across business boundaries is required to be successful in this position. The Buyer IT Category is a member of the Procurement team with dotted line to Information Technology. This team member will work cross functionally with Finance, Engineering and other department leads and stakeholder organizations to ensure correct Hardware and Software specifications for all IT related demand. A successful applicant will have the opportunity to help manage to cost of the enterprise IT spend, manage the licenses for a fast growing, future oriented product development and production brand.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize savings and total cost of ownership for all IT Goods and Services.
  • Develop extensive cost savings Strategies to drive optimal value.
  • Research, source, negotiate and execute Contracts to meet SLA and KPI objectives.
  • Understanding of Copyright Laws and experience with license maintenance agreements and contracts.
  • Manage Automotive Engineering, Product Development, Design and other software procurement request tickets from global users.
  • Work with software requestors as needed to acquire additional or missing information for their requests, to gain procurement approval and to keep them apprised of the status of their requests.
  • Creating and maintaining software vendor information in the procurement system. Partner with software vendors for quoting software, providing POs for procurement requests and invoice processing.
  • Work closely with Finance partners to process invoices and manage software assets.
  • Research software licensing models, product use rights and licensing metrics/entitlements as needed.
  • Facilitate monthly software maintenance renewals with internal business owners and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Information Technology hardware and software.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Security or Management
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing, negotiating IT relevant Hardware and Software
  • Attention to detail
  • Automotive industry experience preferred
  • Experience in vendor communications and software licensing/compliance
  • Requires thorough understanding of planning, analysis, and buing techniques required to support an enterprise IT purchases.
  • Requires understanding of capabilities, features, and limitations of IT Procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to act in a consultative role to understand functional business processes, related information technology needs, and develop solutions and delivery proposals.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run
  • Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends where needed to meet deadlines and company goals
