Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists IT Officer in providing technical support to both internal and external customers on a variety of issues related to communication, computer and internet-based systems and applications. Assists IT Officer in the management of the banks Information Security Program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Installs and maintains new workstations and software.
  • Supports end users in an Active Directory environment with functions such as onboarding, password setting, resetting and configuring access to select systems.
  • Troubleshoots and supports internal customers on a variety of hardware and software problems and issues pertaining to PCs, copiers, printers, fax machines, phones, scanners and other electronic equipment and systems.
  • Supports internal and external customers on problems and issues pertaining to all internet-based technology, including systems such as Merchant Capture.
  • Follows bank policy in coordinating and monitoring internal access to the internet and email, assuring that inappropriate activity is identified in a timely manner to prevent damage to the integrity of the network.
  • Maintains appropriate antivirus software to safeguard network integrity.
  • Assists employees with questions and problems related to internal software programs.
  • Installs, configures and maintains peripherals and network hardware and software.
  • Maintains and monitors system backups to safeguard data.
  • Performs data restore and recovery procedures as necessary.
  • Participates in the development of new internet-based products and services.
  • Participates in training activities for employees on new or existing software.
  • Participates in the development and management of the Security Awareness Program.
  • Documents all configuration and operating practices.
  • Pulls wire and cable as needed to connect workstations, printers, fax machines, telephone equipment and other electronic systems.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of contingency plans.
  • Assists with the generation of monthly reports presented to a Technology Committee.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree or higher in a technology field of study.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting capabilities
  • A general working knowledge of networking concepts and internet applications.
  • Good time-management and multi-tasking abilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Typical office environment with moderate noise levels and temperatures. Requires the ability to operate all types of electronic office equipment. Primarily a sedentary position, but requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, stretching, stooping, crawling, overhead reaching and manual dexterity using hands and fingers. Requires ability for extensive reading and viewing of paper documents and computer screens. Must be able to service equipment and perform other occasional labor in tight or awkward locations.
