Job Description

This Inventory Control Supervisor will be reporting to the Production Manager. It will be leading inventory control transactions in our ERP system, investigating discrepancies, making inventory adjustments, and participating in cycle counts and physical inventory processes. This position will be responsible for producing reports for Finance, as well as research information for various departments.



Responsibilities include:

  • Accurate and timely processing of inventory count requests and transactions
  • Responsible for inventory record and physical stock accuracy, including but not limited to, cycle counts, scrap transactions, MTR (Material Transaction Request) requests and adjustments
  • Primary support of annual inventory process, as well as auditing counts by team members.
  • Resolving inventory discrepancies at a location level
  • Assists with variance analysis to identify root cause of issues.
  • Maintain inventory in clearly labeled and organized locations, both physically and in inventory system
  • Determine continuous improvement programs for materials planning, tracking metrics, and process improvement plans
  • Lead and mentor direct reports on techniques and best practices associated with inventory control and resource management
  • Communicates initiatives across the business areas.
  • Presents cycle count findings, write-offs and process improvements to senior management.



Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of production planning fundamentals, scheduling, materials requirements planning techniques and manufacturing control systems.
  • Knowledge of warehouse, distribution, inventory control, and shipping/receiving practices.
  • Strong analytical skills to perform root cause analysis, interpret data, and resolve issues.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of material movement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to provide leadership to a group of employees.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint and email software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers

Physical Demands:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a warehouse environment
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and standing with sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Must have the ability to learn or to drive stand up and seated forklifts
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Able to move parts and build materials (Must be able to lift 50 lbs assisted)



Experience:

  • 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role, exhibiting positive leadership traits and talent development.
  • Must possess an above average knowledge of material management and inventory skills, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in inventory keeping best practices and researching inventory variances
  • SAP experience preferred


Education:
Associates degree (Preferred), will consider work history in lieu of education
