Work Hours/Shift: PRN. Hours can be between 0630-1730 but could potentially be as late as 8pm.
You Will Be Responsible For:Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in:
  • Standard work parameters
  • Operational programs
  • Delivery and compounding systems
  • Hospital computer systems
  • Medication ordering systems
Maintains operational expertise in and actively provides coverage of the technician services provided by
  • Central Pharmacy
  • IV Room
  • Delivery
  • Controlled Substances
AND (at least one of the following):
  • Oncology Compounding
  • Quality Assurance & Sampling
  • Technician Inventory Check
  • Medication History
  • Clinical Services
Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems
  • Accurately interprets electronic records
  • Maintains expertise in Cerner processes
  • Manages proper and complete patient profile record
Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and delivery of patient?specific medication doses
  • Manages medication delivery activities
  • Prepares accurate medication products for delivery
  • Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products
Performs oral and injectable product compoundingQualifications
What You Will Need:Required:
    • High School Degree
    • One year of Contemporary hospital pharmacy experience
    • Registered Pharmacy Technician in their respective state
    • If applicable to facility Sterile Compounding Certification
Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a physical science, business or healthcare
  • Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Chemo Compounding experience
Job Summary:Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services. To provide safe and accurate medication services and to support all those involved in direct patient care.
