Job Description

At HSBC, the health and well-being of our employees remains of utmost importance. Many of our roles are permitted to work from home (in states in which HSBC is licensed to operate) until further notice. Upon resumption of normal operations, this role may be performed at our Jersey City, New Jersey office.

Principal responsibilities

  • Design, develop and engineer infrastructure automation solutions.
  • Develop automation capabilities to reduce infrastructure complexity and manual effort
  • Write infrastructure automation code, understand DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline, and build automated test scripts (for infrastructure products and upgrades), and build automation interfaces between systems
  • Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders and other DevOps teams
  • Ensuring deliverables as per standards and quality in agreed schedule, review & documentation of processes, tasks as applicable.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of IT Industry experience
  • Full stack infrastructure engineer, expert on mission critical on premise and external hosted platforms.
  • Strong working experience developing applications using Java.
  • Proficient with development of RESTful API & Micro services using Mule/Kong, Java Spring Boot.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation through ‘Infrastructure as a Code. (Puppet/Terraform)
  • Experience in DevOps tools e.g. GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins
  • Experience with common scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Ruby, Python
  • Automation/Orchestration experience with Ansible / Puppet
  • Strong knowledge and awareness with Security aspects, compliance, vulnerability
  • Good knowledge on external Cloud Provider (e.g. AWS, Google)
  • Working experience with Splunk & App Dynamics
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skill.
  • Strong communication skills across organisation levels
