Job Description

The Information Officer will ensure the provision of accurate and up?to?date information across McCann Health North America in support of business development, basic research, and systematic literature searches.


About the role:


Research Support:

  • Undertake literature searches upon request. Being competent at both PubMed and ProQuest Dialog searches.
  • Provide drug information, pipeline reports, industry analysis and current treatment methods upon demand via our in?house tools
  • Set up and maintain alerts per account. Keep abreast of industry news and inform appropriate colleagues.
  • Support KOL desk research.
  • Provide journals, meetings and author information to support pitches and publication planning
  • Provision of data on article impact and reach from in?house tools such as Altmetric.
  • Assist with the application of Reference Manager
  • Communicate our in?house resource tools to colleagues. Advise colleagues of the most appropriate resource tool for their needs. Provide/arrange training where appropriate.
  • Provide copyright advice to colleagues and communicate the regulations across the company
  • Provide data protection advice to colleagues and keep abreast of updates to the regulations, adjusting our policy accordingly.

Manager of External Research Relationships – Licenses and Subscriptions


  • Keep abreast of article ordering systems. Provide assistance to colleagues on using these systems and

communicating with the suppliers with regards to any issues or desirable updates.

  • Maintain in?house journal and resource tool subscriptions.
  • Administer the renewal of our CLA and CCC copyright licenses including an annual audit of our professional number of staff – required for CLA invoice.
  • Set up CCC and CLA copyright collaboration licenses with our clients upon request.

Internal Management

  • Update the Intranet as required.
  • Be proficient in using the in?house resource tools.
  • Be aware of upcoming resources that may efficiently assist projects and add value to our service offerings.
  • Deliver internal training to staff members on copyright and data protection legislation and procedures.
  • Maintain in?house list of reference books
  • Support data management and analytical tasks such as pivot tables in Excel
  • Keep the copyright section of the Intranet up to date with new rules.

About you:

  • You have a Bachelors degree; Masters in Library Science (MLIS/MLS) preferred
  • You have 3 – 5 years experience; healthcare experience preferred
  • You have a passion for learning and research
  • You are organized, proactive, able to prioritize and collaborate
  • You have strong data management and analytical skills
