Job Description
Illinois Rural Transit Assistance Center Specialist I

  • Responsibilities:
    • Provides operational and policy technical assistance to rural transit providers and local, regional, and state officials
    • Provides technical assistance to citizens seeking public transportation
    • Formulates and presents sessions at local, regional, and state conferences and meetings
    • Assists with planning rural transit conferences, roadeos, and other events
    • Produces and publishes newsletters and other promotional material
    • Conducts research and prepares reports
    • Coordinates and tracks training programs
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in transportation, geography, business, or other area consistent with the duties of the position
    • One (1) year of experience with technical assistance in a rural area.

    • Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1 year) of work experience.

    • Note: Preference given to rural transit or specialized agency transportation experience.
  • Starting Salary: $3717/month
