HPOG/I-CATCH Grant Community Outreach and Recruitment Specialist

Edmonds College has an exciting career opportunity that works in close collaboration with grant-wide community partners and the HPOG/I-CATCH Marketing and Communications Coordinator. This position will develop and carry out community-based outreach and student recruitment activities with the goal of increasing enrollment in the HPOG/I-CATCH program at four campuses served by this $3M federally funded grant.


This position is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration of Children and Families’ Health Professions Opportunity Grant through September 29, 2021, at which time further funding will likely be secured. All HPOG/I-CATCH positions are dependent upon HPOG fund availability.
Key responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
  • Build, maintain, and engage community partnerships to increase enrollment of eligible, low-income individuals in healthcare training programs through the HPOG/I-CATCH grant program at all campuses served by the program:


  • Meet regularly with HPOG/I-CATCH Marketing and Communications Coordinator to develop outreach strategies for the project that align with campus marketing plans, implementing best practice strategies to engage community agencies for increased referrals to the program
  • In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, design and execute plans to engage with referring organizations
  • Provide current HPOG/I-CATCH program details to strategic partners in the community, such as the LPA in Snohomish County
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with community partners on behalf of the HPOG/I-CATCH Grant Project and Edmonds College

  • Represent the HPOG/I-CATCH program at recruitment events in the community – fairs, presentations, tabling, etc.


  • Plan, develop, and implement campus recruitment-related events while following HPOG communications guidelines
  • Inform HPOG/I-CATCH team, including the program director, of outreach and recruitment activities through CRM or other relationship management system data tracking and monthly reports
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system to follow up with prospective students via CRM system
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries via, email, phone, website etc.
  • With guidance from the HPOG/I-CATCH Marketing and Communications Coordinator and Edmonds College Outreach Team, connect with potential recruits and referral agencies via social media, texting, website, email, phone
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of HPOG/ I-CATCH program and HPOG study, processes, and services to effectively guide prospective students through information sessions, onboarding and study entry

  • Collaborate with the Edmonds College Outreach Team and other internal campus stakeholders in Professional-Technical training programs supported through the grant, to develop and implement recruitment and enrollment strategies for the HPOG/I-CATCH program:


  • Meet regularly with campus workforce funding program coordinators (BFET, OG, Worker Retraining, etc.) for HPOG/I-CATCH updates and strategy alignment
  • Engage with Student Services, Enrollment Services, and other campus partners to share accurate and ongoing HPOG/I-CATCH enrollment/referral information at point of entry to increase recruitment and enrollment
  • Meet with Allied Health, Social and Human Services, and Medical Billing and Coding program directors quarterly to provide support for recruitment and enrollment

  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding efforts for the HPOG/I-CATCH program:


  • Develop and deliver HPOG/I-CATCH Information Sessions to interested and eligible individuals
  • Become proficient in the HPOG Research Study process and enter accurate applicant data into system as required by funding agency for Edmonds College students entering the program
  • Host campus tours, as needed

This is a professional exempt position reporting directly to the Director of the HPOG/I-CATCH Grant. The funding for this position is supported by a six-year grant from HPOG (Health Professions Opportunity Grant) which is currently funded through September 29, 2021. Edmonds College intends to apply for further HPOG funding in the current year which will possibly provide 5 additional years of funding.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 2 years’ experience in customer service, outreach, recruitment, marketing, sales, or public and/or community relations

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience using a CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Docs
  • Previous college outreach and recruitment experience
  • Bilingual skills a plus, preferably in Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Russian, Ukrainian, or Arabic
  • Experience working with individuals and organizations serving communities of color
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing housing and food insecurity

Additional Information:

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Semi-Sedentary Work: Involves staying in a stationary position to a significant degree. Jobs are sedentary if moving is required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Work is performed at the Edmonds College campus and may require travel to partner colleges in neighboring counties. Currently work is remote but will be ultimately housed at Edmonds College.

Positions in this class typically require operating a computer, communicating, observing and repetitive motions. Exerting between 10-30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to transport, put, install, remove, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.


COMPENSATION:


Salary is $48,000 - 52,000 annually and is based on the Edmonds CC administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options, and more. Vacation and leave packages include 12 sick days per year, 10 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Expected work hours will be 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with the flexibility needed for a variety of community-based activities during the evenings and weekends.
FLSA Status:The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
