Job Description

Hiring! Don't miss the opportunity to join a growing, full service Commercial HVAC company serving commercial, industrial and institutional building owners and property managers in Central Maryland. Selected candidate will be capable of servicing various types of Commercial/Industrial HVAC equipment including but not limited to AHUs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps and VFDs. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Fully understands basic refrigeration cycle to include: identifying components in refrigeration circuit, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the refrigeration circuit, using manifold gauge set, pressure/temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot.
  • Fully understands fundamentals of temperature and humidity measurement and control in air conditioning units. Understands the process of treating air so as to simultaneously control its temperature, humidity, cleanliness and distribution. Ability to use a psychrometric chart to determine the results of mixing air having various properties.
  • Fully understands electron theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits. Ability to read wiring diagrams. Knowledge of Ohms Law. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • Must be able to perform basic heat load and heat loss calculations.
  • Must be able to perform a combustion analysis.
  • Must be able to navigate through energy management systems and understands how energy management systems function.
  • Other knowledge required includes: soldering and brazing, ability to read and understand trade related drawings and schematics, refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging, knowledge of refrigerant piping.

Compensation is commensurate with experience, up to $40.00/hr. plus opportunity to earn performance incentives.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a Journeyman s License and EPA Certification and at least three (3) years of trade-related work experience, OR
  • Any similar combination of education and experience

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to drive to local job sites on a daily basis. On-call and overtime hours as needed.
