Job Description

Objective:

The Human Resource Coordinator assists with and facilitates Human Resource processes at all business locations. Acts as the liaison between teammates and benefit providers, resolves benefits-related issues, and ensures effective use of plans. The Human Resource Coordinator assists in ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. This role provides administrative support to the Human Resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. The Human Resource Coordinator helps create and maintain a positive work culture and exhibits a team-player attitude.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares and conducts new employee orientations and facilitates correspondence with the hiring manager and assigned work unit. Prepares new employee files.
  • Coordinates and processes benefit plan enrollments, changes and employee terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and benefit providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files. Submits online investigation requests and initiates new employee background checks/drug screens.
  • Reconciles benefits statements.
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends/initiates corrective action.
  • Assists with processing all employee relations documents, including terminations.
  • Assists with the logistics of the employee performance review process (i.e. forms, meetings, etc.).
  • Assists with recruitment and the interview process. Tracks status of candidates in ATS/HRIS and responds with follow-up communication at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files. Partners with the operating unit managers and EAs/AAs around initial and on-going employee documentation.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Processes mail.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Some opportunity for remote work.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.

Travel:


No travel is expected for this position other than between local facilities.


Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience as a HR Coordinator.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Preferred Education and Experience

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.
  • Experience with HR software platforms.
  • Experience in Healthcare field.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications


  • Basic to intermediate computer skills and understanding.
