You're a Human Resources Generalist. You know benefits, employee relations, employment law, and compensation, just to name a few. You've mastered the art of juggling 14 things at once without batting an eyelash. You can move from compiling a massive excel spreadsheet to organizing an employee appreciation party in the blink of an eye. If Jenzabar was a football team, you'd be the quarterback, strategizing and leading us forward to the endzone! And like a quarterback, you see the bigger picture but also know the intricacies of the day-to-day. Our Harrisonburg office needs you to fill our HR void.

And now for the serious details:

  • Assist with the new hire process including, but not limited to: background checks, new hire paperwork, I9 compliance, system maintenance, payroll forms and records, orientation and onboarding
  • Manage the employee exit process including, but not limited to: exit paperwork, exit interviews, IT equipment return, and system maintenance
  • Maintain accurate Human Resource Information System records
  • Administer and maintain employee benefits and benefit systems including, but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, 401k, FMLA, STD/LTD, life, HSA, and FSA accounts
  • Assist with annual Open Enrollment
  • Prepare payroll documents
  • Maintain and update employee files
  • Run system reports as needed
  • Complete and respond to employment verification requests in a timely manner
  • Responsible for timely processing of all HR invoices
  • Assist with the annual performance review process
  • Provide day-to-day support for employees
  • Assist employees and managers with minor Employee Relations concerns
  • Participate in the coordination of office social committee and social committee events
  • Assist with recruiting as needed
  • Recommend new processes, policies, and procedures to achieve continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Assist with employee compensation-related matters
  • Responsible for administering, tracking & collecting COBRA payments
  • Responsible for Unemployment and Workers Compensation administration
  • Work closely with other members of HR team to maintain high level of organization within the department
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline

Required Experience:

  • 5 years of Human Resource experience
  • 2 years in HR Generalist role
  • Experience with ADP (or related HRIS system)
  • Experience administering benefits
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft products (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - including presentation skills
  • Proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and management
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Proven ability to maintain a high standard of confidentiality & autonomy
