MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of St. Vincent de Paul CARES is to alleviate pain and suffering, in a spirit of justice and charity, through person-to-person involvement.

SUMMARY: The Human Resources Specialist/Recruiter will achieve staffing objectives through the recruitment and evaluation of job candidates through the hiring processes and manage internships program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed.   • Assess staffing need through communication with executive staff and managers
  • Establish relationships with organizations, such as schools, vocational institutions, etc.
  • Implement and maintain internship program with local schools and institutions
  • Attract applicants through social media, job boards, websites, etc.
  • Develop unique job descriptions and qualifications through research
  • Enter and maintain recruiting and employee on-boarding software
  • Update employee database software with new, closed, open, and close job posting when position is filled
  • Track job applicant progress in employee software through complete hiring process
  • Determine candidate qualifications by conducting cursory interviews, analyzing responses, and comparing qualifications

  • Track and document candidate interview grading and evaluation
  • Verify job candidate references
  • Arrange management interviews by coordinating schedules
  • Arrange travel and lodging for job applicants
  • Improve Agency attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest trends in attracting and recruiting staff
  • Prepare and advertise open job positions
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Strong interview & presentation skills
  • Ability to evaluate and research recruiting options and alternatives
  • Ability to design and implement effective recruiting plan
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
  • Maintain all personnel files in compliance with applicable legal standards and according to accreditation standards

  • Back up to Process bi-weekly payroll utilizing payroll software
  • Back up to Process all new employees and all change-of-status forms
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Support employees with company benefits
  • Coordinate performance management system

Assist HR Director as requested

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all applicable training requirements
  • Comply with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures
  • Comply with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs
  • Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team
  • Performs other duties as necessary to fulfill the St. Vincent de Paul CARES Mission

. Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Pending on position and if prior to hire is approved by Chief Executive Officer, a comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum education qualifications)

  • Associates degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Recruiting experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP preferred

GENERAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Working in an office/site requires prolonged sitting at the computer workstation; standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 20 lbs. and some driving. It is also required to regularly sit, speak, and listen, the employee is also required to walk, use hands and fingers to type, operate equipment, and maintain records and notes. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
