HR SPECIALIST
(FLINT, MI – PLANT)


As a member of the Human Resources team, The Human Resources Specialist will work under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, providing both generalized and specialized staff assistance in a wide range and combination of activities. This position will provide administrative support, flow of department activities and general support to the plant team members.


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and classifications.
  • Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, amount of sales or production, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Process and review employment applications to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants.
  • Answer questions regarding examinations, eligibility, salaries, benefits, and other pertinent information.
  • Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Gather personnel records from other departments or employees.
  • Search employee files to obtain information for authorized persons and organizations, such as credit bureaus and finance companies.
  • Full life cycle wage recruiting (full-time and temp)
  • Systems expert and key user (Peoplesoft, Kronos, AAP, Benefits)
  • Reporting (yearly, quarterly, monthly and weekly)
    • Turnover, Absenteeism, Headcount, Org Charts, Compliance
  • Liaison for team member questions; benefits, pay, etc.
  • Communication meetings
  • Handle employee relations issues
  • Plan and execute community involvement activities
  • Develop, execute, and maintain capacity planning strategy.
  • Solid decision making and judgment skills
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Human Resources and/or administrative experience
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the business
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to interact with all levels in the organization
  • Effectively organize, set priorities, schedule assigned work; oversee multiple and rapidly changing priorities
  • Effectively execute tasks
