FLEET Supervisor Mechanic

General Description

Under limited supervision, assigned daily work. May be required to explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various cleanup activities. Job may require moderate to heavy lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.

Specific Description include but not limited to:

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance and/or repairs on but not limited to:
  • Personnel Lifts, Club Car Passenger / Utility Carts, Club Car Villager 4 Passenger/ Utility Carts.
  • Tennant Shop Tools & Equipment, and Tennant Sweeper.
  • Electric, Diesel, and Gas Material Handling Equipment.
  • Toyota, Hyster, Materials Handling Equipment. Drexel SLT30 EZ-GO Industrial Carts
  • Small Engine repairs and Battery Maintenance
  • Ford F-150 and Chevrolet 3500 Pick-up Trucks.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts
  • Diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment
  • Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts
  • Test major components, such as engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems to determine repair/place method
  • Disassemble and reassemble various components
  • Travel to other worksites beyond the main site to complete repairs on various mobile units….

Some automotive and light duty truck diagnosis and repairs. Makes necessary repairs, beyond minor. Can diagnose and repair electrical system, cooling system, braking system, fuel system (gasoline / propane) and steering system. Be able to operate in a safe manner drill press, engine tune-up meters, lap-top computers and related shop equipment. Operates electrical test equipment used in the repair and diagnosis of electrical components. Operates and drive all above mentioned equipment. This is only a brief overview but not limited to what we are looking for.
Site Specific Heavy Equipment Description:
Will oversee the daily maintenance operation, training, and ensuring work in performed, at not only the main site but also at least one sub-site. Perform Light Duty Maintenance on several types of forklifts, genie lifts, and JLG’s, (remove/replace air filters, grease, engine oil/filter changes, change fuel filters, clean fuel injectors, maintain hydraulic filters/fluids, all lighting/lighting signals

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Automotive Certification such as EPA 608
  • Manufacture (s) Certification (s) Specific Make/Models

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of being exposed to dusty, hot/cold/wet conditions (snow-rain)
  • General - Must be able to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, elevated walkways, and walk, stand, stoop, work in awkward positions underneath equipment, for extended periods of time, enter tight congested areas to include awkward position, and be able to lift 50 lbs. single person – 80 lbs. w/two persons.

Work Schedule

The work schedule is 5/8’s

PTO will be scheduled and approved at least one week in advance.

Will be required to ware PPE such as hard hats, earing protection, eye protection, safety shoes, respirators, Nomex, gloves, etc. but not limited to the PPE listed above.

Note: all precautions are taken to remove equipment from production areas to mitigate associates to exposure of hazards at the different sites.

Note: At times, additional work hours & schedules will exist at the request of the client to meet specific work schedules support Maintenance, Capital, and Production work activities.
