Job Description

Job Summary: The Head Start Assistant Teacher (Paraeducator Level I) assists the Head Start Teacher in providing quality, comprehensive child development services and selected health services to preschool children and their families, and encourages parental involvement in educational planning, goal-setting, and center activities.

Salary: Salary is based upon the current ESP Collective Bargaining Agreement. Rate of pay will be in accordance with the current ESP salary schedule (Level I). FLSA Non-Exempt.

Work Year: 179 days per year, 5.0 hours per day.

Benefits: Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package, for eligible positions. Generally, you are eligible for SEBB benefits if you are anticipated to work at least 630 hours per school year (September 1 through August 31).
