POSITION SUMMARY

Our local bakery is currently hiring a Head Baker/Pastry Chef! Candidates should have experience in a similar role, and be able to perform efficiently, accurately, and independently, while paying close attention to detail. Compensation will be based on these performance metrics and experience. Candidates should possess the ability and desire to take initiative and hold a strong work ethic. We encourage creativity and a passion for your craft.

The Family Bakeshop is located in Longmont, CO and specializes in classic French pastries, breads and cookies. Our products have been enjoyed in Boulder, Louisville and Longmont for more than 30 years.

Bakery Operation Responsibilities:

The Head Baker will be responsible for baking production, operational efficiency, cleanliness and sanitation, customer delivery, and safety and quality results.

· Full-time or part-time position available

· Compensation: $16-$22 per hour, based on performance + experience

· Bonuses: may qualify after 90 day trial period

· Executes food safety and sanitation practices in alignment with Health Guidelines

· Oversees the proper storage and use of perishables

· Monitors and communicates inventory needs

· Experience in executing bakery operations with emphasis on product quality, consistency and presentation.

Skills and Abilities:

· High level of experience in bread and pastry production is desirable. Baking background is a must. Ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years relative experience baking at a commercial bakery and must have qualified references to verify experience.

· Must possess strong leadership skills that include: working independently at times, the desire to learn new ways of doing things if it means being more efficient and effective, comfortable asking questions, possess a positive attitude, is a critical thinker and can take initiative to ensure that the job is done correctly.

· Experiencing laminating dough on a sheeter is a plus

· Able to conduct multiplication math skills accurately for measurements, counting, conversions, etc.

· Able to solve production-related issues

· Reliable and punctual is a must

· Owns a clean, reliable car and has clean driving record

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time and able to lift 30 lbs+

· Able to work 2+ nights per week

· Weekday shift available 8a-2p, opposite the night shift

· Computer skills: Excel, Word, and email are a plus
