Job Description

Chief Ethanol Fuels is seeking a Grain Purchasing Assistant to join the Chief team. This position will be responsible for the daily balancing, application and processing of grain receipts.


Experience and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Requires knowledge of industry practices, terminology and accounting procedures.
  • Previous grain accounting experience is helpful but not required.
  • Associate’s level or higher degree in accounting or business preferred


Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply daily grain receipts to contracts and process settlements for Hastings and Lexington facilities.
  • Update and maintain accurate contract balances.
  • Scan and maintain all electronic grain records.
  • Work with grain suppliers to ensure adequate inventory is received to maintain maximum production rates.
  • Complete and file monthly and quarterly grain related reports.
  • Oversee automated scale system and process all non-automated trucks.
  • Purchase office supplies.
  • Maintain good relations and communications with suppliers, customers, and coworkers.
  • Support accounting department and Ethanol division by performing other projects as needed.
