Job Description

You’ll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications within PwC, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for the Firm to drive strategic business growth. Our Information Technology Project Management team collaborates with PwC practice leaders to develop and deliver technology solutions. We provide project management oversight and collaborate with various project resources and vendors to ensure the appropriate methodology is followed, deliverable quality is high, and satisfaction is achieved. Simply put, you’ll solve business problems using technology, work with multiple teams concurrently, and be able to take pride in end to end ownership of a project.

The PwC Technology Workday Sr. Project Manager leads and manages concurrent and complex PwC Technology projects and programs in the Workday product area and potentially across Global People Technology and/or PwC IT applications. The Senior Project Manager has overall responsibility for the successful implementation, planning, design, execution/implementation, monitoring, controlling and completion of assigned programmes and/or projects.

Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success as a project team leader overseeing the timely delivery of technology solutions including:

  • Leading and performing standard project management activities including planning, resource coordination, risk/issues management, scope management, communications, budget tracking, and status reporting to ensure successful project outcomes;
  • Leading the project team responsible for project objectives. Serving as project point person responsible for the day-to-day running of the project and the project team;
  • Managing schedules, budgets, resources, scope, and deliverables for assigned projects;
  • Engaging in and/or leading discovery activities to help identify, research and scope opportunities on new/existing clients and projects;
  • Collaborating and working closely with Product Leads, the business, other key stakeholders and IT team members throughout the lifecycle of the project;
  • Developing strategies to solve complex technical challenges;
  • Applying knowledge of the Firm to Project Management activities to comply with Firm policies and standards;
  • Utilizing proven and extensive project management expertise, with demonstrated expertise on project management methodologies, tools and processes;
  • Delivering complex technology projects in global deployment environments;
  • Demonstrating product expertise with Workday HCM, Talent Management, Recruiting and Technical/Integrations;
  • Processing the ability to influence without authority to address project issues and promote self-directed teams by enabling open, transparent and clear communications;
  • Collaborating across multiple stakeholders to define creative solutions to complex problems, which may require unique approaches, while maintaining standards and minimizing risk to the firm;
  • Processing proven communication skills; ability to communicate with presence and influence in both formal and informal settings, preparing and presenting persuasive written and verbal materials to executive-level leadership and large audiences;
  • Demonstrating proven risk/issue management capabilities; proactively managing risks and issues across multiple teams and developing and communicating clear mitigation strategies;
  • Demonstrating proven expertise in building trusted advisor relationships with executive sponsors and stakeholders so all activities are closely aligned with the customer's business case and strategy;
  • Managing and report project budget to actual costs and forecasts to project leadership and make recommendations to improve effectiveness;
  • Performing quality review of project deliverables to ensure team adherence to standards and best practices;
  • Maintaining a sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through, with focus on outcomes;
  • Remaining proactive with a sense of urgency, while calm under pressure;
  • Demonstrating proven decision-making and problem-solving skills; and,
  • Working flexibly with team members and stakeholders, including non-native English speakers in other countries, to allow for calls with territories around the globe and in other time zones, as needed and to establish project success.
