The Hampton Inn St. Charles is located just North of I-70. Our limited service hotel is looking for a Night Auditor to join our busy and professional team. Ideally, you'll have prior work experience in a hotel environment, be able to demonstrate initiative and be someone who has the reputation for delivering great service and being fun to work with.

Night Auditors perform the overnight responsibilities of the hotel reception – delivering exceptional experiences for our guests. Additionally, Night Auditors balance the hotels daily business, record end of day transactions, and roll the hotel systems into the new business day. Night Auditors contribute to the overall safety and security of the hotel by following safety rules and coordinating guests and staff in overnight emergency situations. The schedule is a unique offering of 7 days on, working Wednesday-Tuesday followed by 7 days off, Wednesday-Tuesday.

Essential Functions:

  • Post, report, and balance the daily transactions and payments of the hotel’s lodging operation and the other various outlets of the hotel for end-of-day reporting
  • Perform the required End of Day routines on the applicable hotel systems
  • Attend to guest registration, room assignments, and special requests
  • Take, modify, and update room reservations
  • Accurately record and process guest charges, credits, and payments
  • Assist and respond to all guest inquires in person, phone, or email as appropriate

General Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior accounting experience or education preferred
  • Fluently read, write, and speak English
  • Demonstrated ability to remain level-headed in hectic and tense situations
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and on time while working alone

Work Environment & Other:

  • This is an overnight shift work position - typical shift is from 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Job is performed at a hotel reception desk in a full-service upscale hotel
  • Communications skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Problem solving and basic reasoning skills are required
  • Job requires the use of standard office equipment including computers, telephones, and photocopiers
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions
  • Frequent physical movement within the front office area of the hotel
  • Occasionally position oneself to stock supplies and attend to equipment located in lower cabinets and server rooms
  • Occasionally move or transport guest luggage or packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to maintain a stationary position for extended periods of time at assigned front desk workstation
  • Must have mathematical ability to identify and correct accounting errors
  • Mental alertness
