Job Description

The Translational Pulmonary & Immunology Research Center (TPIRC) and the SoCal Food Allergy Institute is a unique biomedical database, research and software organization who utilize technology and data to drive patient care and business decisions. TPIRC is a non-profit clinical care and research center that focuses on the development of cutting-edge, individualized treatment protocols for rare and orphan diseases utilizing comprehensive diagnostic tools and patient-driven research. Our treatment programs are one of a kind with unmatched success rates. Our team is rapidly, growing and we are looking for new members to support our mission.

This role is focused on the continued development of a proprietary, state of the art health record platform that integrates with other core business applications. These include but are not limited to Salesforce, Laserfiche, and proprietary Machine Learning Algorithms. The database will be the integral part of creating a neural network that provides a constant feedback loop to drive patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing core infrastructure in Python on Google App Engine

  • Developing Back End services on Python

  • Developing Front End services on React and Typescript

  • Building out newly enabled product features

  • Monitoring system uptime and errors to drive us toward a high performing and reliable product

  • UI/UX design and development

  • Data model extensions

  • Interface development including connectors to proprietary and standard interfaces

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in building cloud-native ready solutions

  • 3+ years experience of building Back End services (Python / NodeJS)

  • 2+ years experience of building single page application on React / Typescript

  • Deep understanding of SQL, Postgresql/NoSQL/Redis, *Cassandra DBs is a plus)

  • 3+ years developing in other backend platforms such as NodeJS, Python, PHP

  • 3+ years working with NoSQL solutions such as Redis

  • Experience with message brokers (Rabbit MQ or NATS or Kafka)

  • Advanced experience building web services/APIs using REST based API in a high transaction environment

  • Knowledge of API security using oAUTH or OpenID Connect

  • Ability to write complex SQL queries with deep knowledge of database indexing and query optimization

  • Strong experience with managing change control policies, software builds, deployment strategies, code reviews and software recommendations

  • Proven ability to use Design Patterns to accomplish scalable architecture

  • Proficiency in using architectural design utilities like Visio, ERDs, UML

  • Proficiency using MS PowerPoint to deliver technical and non-technical presentations

  • Expert level experience working in a Windows environment

  • Intermediate experience working in a Linux environment

  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
