JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

A Technician performs operational duties relating to diesel engine service, rebuild, and repair. The engines come from several business sectors including heavy and light-duty on-highway vehicles, agriculture equipment, construction equipment, and marine, among others. A Technician is responsible for the reconditioning and repairing of all manufacturer engines and components. He/she determines, through proper diagnostics, the method and sequence of performing a needed repair at high levels of quality and efficiency.

COMPETENCIES:

A high-caliber Technician will be knowledgeable and efficient in the operation and use of testing equipment, specialty tools, reading measuring devices, and use of shop equipment.

Understanding of electrical and mechanical fuel injection systems required.

Experience with diagnostic scan tools.

Proficient with the diagnostics of electrical and mechanical components.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or Equivalent from a college or technical school preferred.

Two plus years experience in Diesel Engine Repair Field or equivalent education required.

Must be team-oriented, a good communicator, and provide excellent customer service.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must have excellent time-management skills

Must have a desire to approach training and education as a life-long process.

Self-motivated


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb+ pulling

Standing/Sitting Up and downstairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal

Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
