Job Description
Job Summary

As a Front End Developer II, you will work with developers, designers and product managers to implement features for the Overstock.com website and other internal applications. You will play an active role in identifying and resolving our standards in performance, usability and accessibility. You should have prior professional experience working with front end technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. You will be willing to learn and apply new skills as required to ensure the company's success. As a Front End Developer II, you would work on cross-functional teams that experiment often and iterate quickly to deliver experiences that our customers will love.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with developers, designers and product managers to implement features
  • Optimize code for clean, performant and accessible functionality
  • Coordinate across different organizations, including network engineering, site reliability engineering and content marketing teams
  • Create reusable HTML, CSS & JavaScript modules
  • Consuming backend services to display content & data via React.js components
  • Contribute to front end build process with NPM scripts, webpack, babel, etc.
  • Oversee deployment of production code
  • Build Unit Tests for features in your code base
  • Set up A/B Tests for new features
  • Collaborate with other developers and possibly train and mentor when needed.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.
  • Follow legal policies as directed.
Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements

  • 3 + years of professional website coding experienc e.
  • Experience developing responsive websites
  • Proficient JavaScript skills. ES7+
  • Must have a passion for clean semantic markup and attention to detail
  • Have a good understanding UI Design, Usability, and Accessibility.
  • Must be able to work and fix various basic browser inconsistencies that appear
  • Must be able to work well under pressure to build features and wireframes

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Must know how to whip Internet Explorer / Edge into submission and tame any other browser inconsistencies that pop up.
  • Must be able to work fast and under pressure to create pages, wireframes, and fix bugs.
  • Experience working with Javascript Frameworks like React , Angular etc.
  • Must be passionate about web standards and front-end development.
  • Should enjoy building new features with front end technologies
