Job Description

The Position:

This position provides occasional, back-up front desk coverage for FSA?s office in downtown Santa Barbara at 123 W. Gutierrez Street. This position assists with greeting visitors, answering phones, and supporting employees with administrative and operational needs. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Working with those impacted by trauma can be fulfilling and meaningful, yet simultaneously exhausting and heart-rending. FSA strives to be a trauma-informed and resilience-oriented organization, actively identifying and employing methods to support staff to embody a healthy and sustainable balance of care for others and themselves.


Sample of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and support visitors, providing information about agency programs and/or providing other resources as indicated
  • Greet consumers and inform employees of consumer arrivals
  • Escort visitors/consumers to the restroom, assuring confidentiality of surrounding environment
  • Collect consumer payments; provide receipts
  • Answer calls, direct callers to appropriate employees or resources, and take messages
  • Disseminate mail
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Employment Standards:

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Previous experience in an office setting desired.
  • Excellent computer skills required. Efficient and effective multi-tasking skills required.
  • Pleasant, professional and patient attitude when greeting visitors and consumers.
  • Respectful and compassionate phone etiquette and the ability to relate well to consumers and employees is essential.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:

  • Position is part-time – no regular hours are available.
  • Pay is dependent on experience.
